Step One: School sends a warning letter to the family and attempts to resolve truancy issue without county intervention.
Step Two: Check with Mary to see if student is in the Anoka system already. She will advise you of next steps if the student has already been involved with the county previously. If the student has not had prior county interactions, fax attendance log with actual dates of unexcused absences to Denny. Denny will invite the student to a TIP meeting.
Step Three: Email Mary for the latest Anoka County referral form. Update Mary as the student continues to accrue truant days.County will contact school of court date;

- County sends Letter A which informs the parents of continued truant status and requests that the family meet with school officials.
- County sends Letter B for students with prior county interaction.
- County sends Letter C and/or Letter D.
- County requires a Diversion Hearing at the Courthouse for an Admit/Deny hearing. A school representative is required to attend this meeting.
- County requires family to go to court.
