Step One: At 3 days of unexcused absences, send out Letter 1 (to be added below) , certified mail.
Step Two: At 7 unexcused absences, contact Belinda Schermerhorn to be put on the list for the monthly truancy meeting and send out Letter 2 (to be added below), certified mail.
Step Three: All parties attend the truancy meeting in which the student signs a contract.
Step Four: If student/parents are uncooperative or fail to attend the contract meeting, the school may request that the County Attorney's Office petition the court for intervention. Email Mr. Headley and he will send you a petition. It needs to be signed, notorized, and returned with all the required documentation.
