Step One: Schools should attempt to resolve the truancy issues per statute.
Step Two: After five days of truancy, schools should continue the truancy interventions but also notify Family Services by fax of the situation. Family Services will attempt to contact the family and intervene.
Step Three: Schools should continue to communicate with the county if truancy issues are not resolved. Family Services will determine when to request a petition from the county attorney.
