For 12-15 Year-Olds
Step One: At 3 unexcused absences contact parents and send them a 3 day letter with the Washington Attendance Intervention Program Brochure (see below). Step Two: At 5 unexcused absences submit Request for AIM Letter to the County Attorney's office (see below). A copy of the letter will be emailed to the person submitting the request. Note: An Assistant Principal needs to be present at the AIM meeting to answer any attendance policy questions. Step Three: At 7 unexcused absence submit a Truancy Diversion Referral form to your school's Truancy Worker (see below). A formal meeting will be held in which an attendance contract will be signed. Step Four: If there are continued absences the Truancy Worker will petition the student and parent(s)/guardian(s) to court. |
