Step One: School attempts to resolve issues per state statute.
Step Two: School refers student to the county at five days using the TIP form (see below). County will require family to attend group meeting about attendance.
Step Three: School intervenes and holds a truancy intervention and attendance meeting to create an in-school attendance contract - required before completing SART referral form.
Step Four: If student continues to accrue truant dates, refer student back to county using the SART information form and providing other required documentation (see form below). During the SART meeting, in which the school must attend, the assistant county attorney may offer an attendance contract or may require the student to attend court.
Step Five: If student continues to accrue truancies, student will be referred to court.
